Their explosive first half gave them a decent foundation and they hope that performance will continue to look that way on the total.
One of the leading men on top of the pack was John Campbell. He came into the ball with 62 runs off 60 balls and scored an unbeatable combination of patience and attack when the Indian bowlers found a run to run batters.
Campbell's effort came in handy since it saved West Indies from the wickets falling in the initial order. His batting-heavy first half enabled the hosts to have something to rely on in the middle frames.

His century was of great value in particular as West Indies required a batsman to feed headily and play deep in the innings. Greaves did a wonderful job with that, and peddled him towards a competitive total.
Amir Jangoo's effort was another significant one as he scored a rapid 58 off 43 balls. His aggressive approach gave a much needed impetus to West Indies' innings as time passed in the later stages.
